Part of a package of four bills, the bill amends the

to enable the transportation by pipeline and injection and storage of greenhouse gas substances in Commonwealth offshore waters by: providing for the release of offshore acreage over which greenhouse gas titles may be obtained, establishing a system of titles to authorise title-holders to engage in greenhouse gas related operations and conferring on the minister regulatory powers in relation to those titles and activities, and adapting existing petroleum provisions relating to administrative, regulatory and process matters to greenhouse gas titles and operations. Also amends the existing regime of petroleum titles to accommodate the new kinds of activity being authorised by the Act; amends the long title of the Act and renames it as the ; and makes consequential amendments to 27 other Acts.
